Battlestar Galactica Episode 1.06: Litmus

I don't know how much longer the writers can keep up this streak of great episodes for the New Battlestar Galactica, but they accomplished it again. This episode had some very dark things about it, and has some big ties to future episodes.
On the Galactica, civilians are cleared to board, and to walk around, probably so they can get off their own ships, or to help with work on the battleship. In any case, a man gets on and walks around. He passes Colonel Tigh, who recognizes him as Doral, the man they left behind on Ragnar Anchorage. Adama comes in and shouts his name, and as he does so, Doral turns and opens his coat. He has a bomb strapped to his chest and blows himself up, killing several people in the hallway.
In the aftermath of the attack, Adama opens up an investigation, and assigns Sargent Haidian to look into what happened, how the Cylon got the explosives, how he accessed a small arms locker and how he got on the ship. Adama and President Roslin agree to announce to the fleet that the Cylons have the ability to look like humans, which stuns everyone.
Haidian focuses her search on Chief Tyrol, who was unaccounted for at the time. His deck staff gave her conflicting reports to his location at the time of the bombing, when he was sleeping with Sharon near the bombing. He denies that he had anything to do with the bombing. One of his deck crew claimed to have left the door open, covering for the chief.
Meanwhile on Caprica, Helo is searching for the other Sharon/Boomber, leaving at night time, while Six, Doral and Boomer watch him from afar. They talk about a plan, and ask Sharon if she's ready. Sharon says yes, and Six proceeds to beat the crap out of her. They then arrange for Helo to find her. Together they escape.
In the sick bay on Galactica, Baltar runs into Starbuck, who's still recovering, and she suggests that the bomber may have been after his work. Baltar panics and has a rather funny talk with six down a crowded hallway.
This episode was paticularly interesting because of some of the relevance to todays events that are occuring today, namely the suicide bomber. As you all know, this has been a huge problem with peace in the Middle East, and apparently, the Cylons are ready and willing to do the same thing. It's a scary thing, but what follows is even scarier.
The Tribunal was described as a witch-hunt in the episode, and it seemed to be similar to the Macarthy Hearings during the US-Russian Cold War, while the government tried to find if people were involved with Communism or not. Sargent Hadian is an interesting character who's had a small role up to now. When she comes on stage, she really dominates as persistant and motivated person, although she does seem to overstep her bounds a little bit.
Sharon and Tyrol's relationship is also ended, but at the end, after they got in trouble. I keep wondering why the Chief didn't just confess, because they were thinking that he was a Cylon or a cylon helper, and probably would have gotten into less trouble if he had just confessed.
The situation on Caprica is also becoming more and more interesting. Where it was just Helo trying to escape, it seems that there's an entire new plan for what's going to happen with that, and from the summaries, I think that I have an idea. It's going to get very interesting, and it's clear that Six and Boomber don't like each other much. I would like to see some different Cylon models though, other than the four that we've previously seen. At least the metal ones are doing a bit more than just standing around.
Sigh, another week until a very interesting one I think...
