White Noise 2: Not in Theaters

For all of you who wanted to see Firefly's Nathan Fillion (Malcolm Reynolds) and Katee Sackhoff (Kara 'Starbuck' Thrace) on the big screen, you're in for a disapointment. According to Fangoria, the movie will be released in the United States as a direct to DVD feature, bypassing the theaters.

February 2:WHITE NOISE sequel to bypass U.S. theaters
Fango got the word from a source who should know that WHITE NOISE: THE LIGHT, the sequel to the surprise-hit paranormal thriller of a couple of winters back, will be going straight to DVD in the U.S., bypassing initially planned theatrica play via Rogue Pictures. Universal Home Entertainment will release the disc, but no street date or supplemental details have yet been announced; we’ll keep you posted. The new WHITE NOISE, directed by Patrick (DRACULA 2000) Lussier from a Matt (PELTS) Venne script and starring SLiTHER’s Nathan Fillion as a man who is brought back from the brink of death with the ability to foresee who among the living will soon die, did make it to big screens in Britain last month (poster pictured here); click here to see the movie’s UK website. —Michael Gingold

There are rumors flying about that White Noise: The Light is set to go direct to DVD however as of the time of this message, this is JUST A RUMOR.

No decision has been made about the project going direct to DVD and bypassing US cinemas and the decision at this point in time can still go either way.

It is possible that with Nathan Fillion currently being somewhat high-profile with promotion of the new Drive TV series set to premiere on Fox on April 15 with a movie length episode (regular time starting from April 16th preceding 24) and the overwhelming success of the movie Waitress that White Noise: The Light will yet see the “light” in cinemas across the US and other places around the globe.
