Something that's been bugging me...

This isn't news related or anything, but there's something that I keep seeing in a lot of reviews and things even into the third season. Reviews and articles that start like this: What do you think of when you hear the words, Battlestar Galactica? No, not the old, cheesy sci-fi show.
Or something along those lines. Basically, almost every single major newspaper or establishment that's given a review for this show always brings up the old one, and places this disclaimer in the beginning. We don't want you to confuse what we're talking about with the old, geekier show. Instead, we're talking about the new, hip show on the SciFi channel.
Why is this bothering me? Because we're now into the third season. Since 2003, we've had the new Galactica on the tube, three times longer than the original version!
So why are people still confusing the show with an older one that fared worse?
